Welcome to MTRC – Home of Real Tennis in Manchester.
Established in 1876, MTRC is dedicated to preserving and promoting the ancient sport of real tennis—the original racquet game from which modern lawn tennis evolved. Our club offers a unique blend of historical charm and contemporary facilities, providing an exceptional experience for players of all ages and skill levels.
Our Facilities
Situated in Manchester, our club features a real tennis court, rackets court, padel and pickle ball adapted courts and a squash court. Complemented by comfortable changing rooms, a welcoming lounge, and a well-stocked pro shop. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, our facilities are designed to enhance your playing experience.

We regularly host taster sessions, tournaments, and social events, providing ample opportunities to engage with the sport and our community. If you’re interested in experiencing real tennis, we invite you to join us for a taster session—equipment is provided, and all you need are suitable court shoes.
Taster sessions are advertised outside the club itself as well as on our social media pages.
